“It's not necessary to exchange houses at the same time. It's possible, but not required. Using credits makes it easier, as it gives us the flexibility to book whenever we want and host whomever we want, whenever we want.”

A member travel story

August 2024

Ayes wanted to spend 2 weeks in Scotland with her partner and kid.

1

She saw 5 homes in Edinburgh and sent 4 requests.

2

One of the members - Nicola - accepted the request within the hour.

3

Next day, they chatted via video call and confirmed that Ayes’s family will stay at Nicola’s house.

4

Ayes paid the Keybento booking and cleaning fees.

A few weeks later, Ayes enjoyed Nicola's home (and her kids enjoyed feeding the chickens).

“It's not traditional swapping. It's much more flexible and it's designed for families. The idea is that you can have people stay in your home while you’re not there and get credits. And those credits you can use to go somewhere else in someone else's house at another time.”

August 2024

Nicola was planning to visit the grandparents. So she made her home available to earn credits for her future trips

She received a request from Ayes. It seems like a fit, so she decided to match.

2

Ayes and Nicola chatted. They both agreed that Ayes’s family will stay at Nicola's house.

3

Nicola earned 11 hosting credits - one for each night that Ayes’s family booked at her house.

Nicola has a nice time away with the grandparents and when she returns home she finds her home clean, the mail taken in, plants watered and chickens happy.

“ We like having people stay in our house because our home stays alive and a much lower risk of burglary - there are people cooking, living there, and keeping the lights on. That's definitely a big advantage for us.”
